Since my style and approach leans more on the candid/lifestyle side of things, a lot of people ask me if they can still get a few nice, “look at the camera” photos for Christmas cards. My answer is always, “of course!” Truly, it only takes a second or two to take them and I get it… older relatives (my own mother included) tend to want a photo where everyone is camera aware and smiling perfectly. That said, most people hire me for the fun photos where you get to relax and be silly with your family. These become little photo stories families will look back on throughout the years to remember this time in their lives. During this fun autumn photo session in Elk Lake Victoria we played a lot of what I call, “Portrait Games” – where I prompt families to do something together and it makes for super cute images where everyone’s personalities and real smiles shine!
