Before I became a wedding and portrait photographer, I specialized in documentary journalism for my master’s degree. Telling visual stories is the easiest way I know how to communicate.
If you opt for wedding portraits, I’ll give you easy-to-follow instructions so you look and feel amazing.
I have an intuitive approach and believe in giving you room to actually enjoy the moment instead of worrying about photography or being bossed around.
All photography coverage includes an unlimited number of downloadable, digital + scanned analog film photos (including negatives) in your own private gallery. You will also receive a sneak peek slideshow featuring 25-50 highlights from your wedding within a week of your celebration.

A second photographer is a great idea if you want photos from all angles. It's also a great idea if you want preparation photos and you're both getting ready in different locations.
The best way to enjoy your wedding photos in the years to come is to have an album made. While there is no obligation to order a book through me, I make the process easy so you don' t need to feel overwhelmed creating your own DIY option. The albums I create are heirloom-quality and are designed to last beyond a lifetime.

I am a still photographer and offer both digital and old-fashioned analog film (the kind that has a physical negative, not to be confused with motion picture film or video).
For most couples I will primarily photograph your wedding with my digital camera and I use analog film cameras to create more dream-like images of your day. I typically photograph between one to three rolls of film per wedding day, depending on the length of your celebration.
That said, if you want your day almost entirely photographed on analog film then I’m all in.
Analog film is a nuanced medium and requires a different skillset than digital. I am passionate about the medium and I’ve done all my personal work on film for the last 10 years. Also since my original training in photography school was on old-fashioned film, I know how to make it sing and compensate for challenging lighting situations.
Your engagement session is an optional complimentary gift to you, a relaxed and easy way for us to connect before the wedding. It’s a chance to get comfortable in front of my lens and for us to build an easy rhythm together so that on your wedding day everything feels natural. I love that by the time the wedding comes, we’ll already feel like old friends and you’ll be so comfortable with me that you’ll forget I’m even there! Many couples use their images for guest books, invitations, or framed pieces at home.
Absolutely! In fact, I think every couple should ask to see full galleries from the photographers they are considering so you know what to expect. While my blog does show highlights from wedding days, you don’t get to see all the photos each couple received. If you tell me your venue or location, I can send you the full collection delivered to the client from a similar wedding.
Questions to consider when you’re looking at other photographers’ full galleries (including mine):

You will always receive a sneak peek slideshow featuring about 30-60 highlight images within a week of the wedding. The rest of your collection, featuring an unlimited number of naturally-polished images, will be ready within four to six weeks of your wedding date.

We can also stay in touch throughout your wedding planning… I’m here to help if you need any advice or guidance as you create an itinerary for your celebration. A little closer to the date you’ll receive a questionnaire to help me know more about your itinerary and must-have formal group portraits. I’m also happy to coordinate working with your wedding planner, videographer or other vendors ahead of time to make sure we’re all in synch.
