“Christina is seriously the best teacher I've ever had in ANY subject. I thought I knew my stuff but I was blown away by the skills and techniques we learned.”

I’ve photographed more than 500 weddings in every condition imaginable, across cultures, climates, and chaos. Through my workshops and courses, I've taught 1,000+ photographers how to change the way they shoot forever.

Finally – you can get off Zoom and join a workshop where you get to actually learn in real life, while meeting all your new best friends.
Bring your camera! The workshop is structured so there are only short lessons and then a chance to practice! No long lectures. No sitting still for hours.
When I teach, I don’t hold back and I don’t keep secrets. You’re getting 20 years of experience distilled into one day. I keep things simple, practical, and grounded in real-world experience.
If you’re new to weddings I’ve got you covered. You’ll go from zero to 100 like a Leica on speed. This is the course I wish I had when I was starting out.
And if you’re a seasoned pro you’re guaranteed to learn new ways of seeing that will change the way you shoot forever!
Harsh noon sun. Backlighting. Dark rooms. Mixed light. Outdoor receptions with no ceiling. Rain, heat, wind, sand, humidity, ants, and gear-unfriendly conditions. You’ll learn how to make strong images no matter what the day throws at you.
You’ll learn photojournalism techniques that help you tell better visual stories. I specialized in documentary filmmaking during my master’s in journalism, and visual storytelling has shaped how I photograph everything… especially weddings.
You will learn simple ways to direct people… including natural prompts, and how to make people feel relaxed and connected.
As an added bonus, we’ll also go over ideas and inspiration to create artistic portraits that will make your couples the envy of all their friends… with step-by-step how-to’s.
You’ll learn techniques and hacks to problem solve just about any technical challenge.
On-camera and off-camera flash techniques… and working with video lights.
What to expect and anticipate on a wedding day, whether you’re photographing vows at the church, a day with a Chinese tea ceremony or a multi-day Hindu celebration.
Ways to cooperate with other vendors, including coordinators, videographers, DJs or caterers.
This is not a business workshop, but we will touch on a few key ideas that matter on a wedding day and long after it ends.
We’ll talk at a high level about pricing yourself fairly, attracting the kind of clients you actually want to work with, and presenting your work in a way that feels clear and approachable to couples.
We’ll also cover customer service basics… how to guide clients, set expectations, manage stress, and build trust from the first inquiry through to gallery delivery. You’ll learn about creating simple systems and workflows for your client experience… plus ways to protect yourself, including contracts, questionnaires, and insurance.
You are expected to know how to use your camera. It’s completely fine if you usually shoot in aperture or shutter priority. I’ll show you how to simplify manual shooting and make it feel easy and intuitive. But I won’t be able to teach where your buttons are, how your mode dial works, or how to change basic settings. There simply isn’t time.
You won’t be learning Photoshop or Lightroom. I’ll talk about workflow and how to support your post-production choices, but this day is about shooting, not sitting at a computer.
We’ll touch lightly on pricing, attracting the right clients, and customer service, plus a little bit about contracts and insurance but we won’t deep dive into marketing, ads, branding, or setting up a business. That would take an entire week.

March 29 is smack dab in the middle of our cherry blossom season! Extend your trip so you can photograph all our spring flowers!
I’m not affiliated with any booking sites, but I’ve personally had good luck using Trivago to compare rates, and Hotwire for last-minute deals. Hotwire offers last-minute deals on well-known franchise hotels, and the hotel name is revealed after booking (the only catch with Hotwire is you often can’t cancel… but the rates are incredible)!
