This family came all the way from Alberta to celebrate a milestone birthday with a beach getaway in Sooke. They rented a gorgeous vacation home right on the water and brought along the real star of the show… their golden retriever, Peggy. We kept the photos mostly candid and just let Peggy do her thing. She explored, played, and soaked up the ocean air while everyone enjoyed the moment. We also had a bit of time during our hour together to take some couples portraits where I gave just simple, gentle directions so everyone felt at ease. This vacation happened to coincide with the Stanley Cup, and the Oilers had just played game 4… Peggy was ready to cheer them on in her Oilers gear, which made for some really fun photos. Sessions like this are my favourite because they’re relaxed and personal.
