It was such a treat to photograph this little guy’s first birthday party at the beautiful Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden in Vancouver BC. I photographed his parents’ wedding just a few years ago, so it felt extra special to be invited back to capture another big milestone in their lives. We kept the photos mostly candid… playing, laughing, and enjoying the day. The birthday boy was surrounded by his cousins, and we grabbed just a few funny group shots of them sitting together (with lots wiggling, of course). There were balloon animals, entertainment to keep the kids happy, and a yummy meal to bring everyone together. I love when families invite me back for these big life moments… from weddings to babies to birthdays… it’s awesome getting the chance to see their stories unfold over the years.
