I had such a sweet session in Sooke with my husband Derek’s cousin’s new baby (that makes her my cousin’s niece, so I guess she’s my first cousin once removed)! This little one was just 10 days old when I got to photograph her, which made it an extra special treat. We kept things natural and candid, just a new family enjoying quiet time at home with their newborn. This was a mini-session and it’s amazing how much variety we got in just 20 minutes of photography. We were able to move from the living room to bedroom to nursery and even got in an outfit change. I loved that we captured so many tiny details, sweet family snuggles, and plenty of personality even at only 10 days old. If you’re in Sooke or anywhere near Victoria and want newborn photos that feel easy and natural, it really doesn’t have to take long to get a huge variety of storytelling images.
