Getting

Ready for your

SESSION

I'm so excited to photograph your new baby!

Newborn sessions can feel like a lot to prepare for, but I’m here to keep things relaxed and easy. I’ll guide you through the process and focus. No stiff poses. No pressure.

My process...

What to expect

I only take on newborn sessions when I know I’ll be available during the weeks around your due date.

  • No retainer is required
  • I’ll send a contract and quick questionnaire
  • Payment is only due on the day of the session
Babies are unpredictable—and that’s why I always allow time for feeding and nursing, changing, or calming and cuddles.  There’s no extra cost for breaks!

Getting ready

Candid style, easy direction

I bring a relaxed style with gentle direction – nothing formal or posed. I’ll photograph you holding, loving, and interacting with your baby. We can also include:

  • Grandparents, siblings or fur babies
  • Both parents with baby
  • Each parent with baby
  • Close-ups of baby’s features
  • Solo photos of your baby
  • Nursing or bottle-feeding moments

Locations

You don’t need to clean your whole house – promise! I often photograph families:

On the couch

  • Laying on the bed
  • Snuggled on the floor
  • In the nursery

Optional items to have ready

You don’t need props or Pinterest-worthy setups. You only need to have items that make you and your baby feel comfortable. If you’ve been gifted a special blanket or stuffy and want to include it, we totally can.

  • A large, timeless-looking blanket for your baby to lay on
  • A few outfits you love
  • Any special gifts or heirloom items

What to wear?

  • You don’t need to dress up unless you want to. Wear something you feel good in – cozy, relaxed, and reflective of your style. Any colours work!

For baby:

  • You’re welcome to have a few outfit options (including anything meaningful or gifted)
  • A neutral swaddle is also great great
  • Some parents like a few nude or diaper-only photos, which are totally welcome

After our session

What to expect

Once we’re done our session my photo editor and I will get to work doing some light (but natural) retouching to make your photos sing.

I make it easy for you to download, share and use your photos. All collections include:

You'll receive

  • A private gallery you can choose to share with others so they can help themselves to pictures (saving you time and effort making copies for others).
  • An unlimited number of high-resolution, lightly retouched images (I only take out duplicates or unflattering photos)
  • Each image will have BOTH a black and white + colour version (two versions of every image).

Teasers & rush requests

Please allow up to four weeks for your photos to be ready. If you want a teaser photo sooner for a baby announcement or Christmas card that’s no problem, but if you’d prefer your full collection early please let me know and I can send you my rush request price list.

Have any questions?

Feel free to reach out to me with any question – big or small. I’m happy to help so you have an effortless portrait session!
