Beacon Hill Park Engagement Portraits

A creative couples engagement portrait of a man and a woman kissing with reflections of a willow tree. This photo was taken with Portra 400 120mm film using a Pentax 645 medium format camera in Victoria BC

Our fair city of Victoria BC has its fair share of stunning backdrops, but Beacon Hill Park is one of our crown jewels. I was so excited when Mercedes and Nathan chose to have their couples portraits 100% on analog film. We explored the entire park together during cherry blossom and daffodil season and oh-my-gosh did we see some beautiful blooms! These two lovebugs have been together 10 years and newlyweds for almost one and you can see how completely smitten they still are with each other. We used a combination of Kodak Portra and Gold 35mm and 120mm (medium format) film.

Whether you choose film, digital, or a mix of both, you’ll always receive downloadable digital images. My film is professionally developed and scanned by a trusted lab (Canadian Photo Lab in Hope, BC), so I’m able to deliver both the original negatives and beautifully digitized images.

While they may no longer be engaged, I still call these session “engagement portraits” because that’s how people typically search for Victoria BC photographers. 🙂
