I love that more and more parents-to-be are having their maternity photography sessions at home or in their backyards. It’s nice to think these photos aren’t just pictures of pregnancy, but of a story of all the excitement going into getting the house and yard ready for baby. And, of course big fur-sister-to-be was an extra special treat. This is one excited dog who can’t wait to meet the new baby! I also love that this is the same yard where dad-to-be grew up, since it belonged to his parents before these two lovebugs moved in as a couple. I photographed these pregnancy photos on both digital and film to give a greater sense of nostalgia.

A lot of people ask me when is the right time for maternity portraits. Generally, your baby bump will have “popped” sometime near weeks 28-35, which makes for great pictures!
