Katie & Mary-Ann’s Wedding in Victoria BC

Katie writes: ” We met in 2011 after several months of a mutual friend trying to set us up. Neither of us were particularly interested in the meet-up, but we did it anyway. We didn’t really hit it off romantically, but several months later Mary-Ann sent me a Facebook message suggesting we go for coffee. A couple of months later, we moved in together…and you know the rest of the story. It’s true what they say – when you meet the right person, your life changes instantly. You just know. We envisioned a small, intimate, classy affair for our wedding. We wanted to be surrounded by our closest family and friends, who are actively involved in our lives. We wanted a venue that felt warm, classic, and offered both a ceremony and reception venue that was within our budget. We knew that we didn’t want a traditional sit-down dinner, instead we wanted to give guests a culinary experience they (hopefully) wouldn’t forget.”

By complete coincidence their good friends were also married on that day (Ally would have been in the wedding party if not for the date conflict). We met up at Beacon Hill Park and it was a surprise to see their wedding party almost completely matching Katie & Mary-Ann’s! So, we had to make them ham it up together for a few photos.

My years of experience photographing weddings means I have all kinds of secret tricks to take amazing portraits of you and your family without needing to be in your close physical space. And my style also means you'll have lots of variety in your pictures without us needing to be any closer than six feet apart.

My business is following the guidelines set out by B.C.'s incredible PHO, Dr. Henry, and I will be wearing a mask. If I even feel mildly ill before our scheduled time together, we can reschedule or I am happy to find you another fantastic photographer to replace me. And if you need to cancel because you're not feeling well, it's all good. We can schedule your portraits for another time.

I will take every precaution to make sure we take your portraits in the safest way possible.
