Congratulations Carrie & Ryan!
I’ve been asking couples to tell me more about what inspired them to choose their venues. When I re-read what Carrie wrote, it really was exactly the way they wanted – a real family celebration in a beautiful setting.
|We walked into Sea Cider on a grey rainy day in October and just felt the comfort and beauty of Sea Cider. If it was that gorgeous in October we could only imagine what it would be like in the summer time. We want the wedding to feel like a family celebration. With Owen [Carrie’s son] being seven years old he understands what is happening and the significance of it all, so therefore the day has a lot to do with him and our families becoming one. We don’t want to stress over the small details, or even stress about the big ones, we just want our close friends and families to be together and celebrate with us.”
Carrie & Ryan’s proposal story is verklempting: “Ryan and I have been untraditional from the very beginning. We had our first date at Bard and Banker pub, we talked for hours and it was just right. Ryan met Owen and the two of them connected from day one. Ryan loves Owen like his own child. Ryan and I talked on and off about getting married and finally I decided it was time.. so Owen and I proposed to Ryan! We hid a ring inside a box of Lego (Ryan and Owen’s favourtie pass time) with a note that said ‘Ryan will you marry my mom so we can be a family forever?”. Ryan opened the box, began building the Lego and finally noticed the note and read it. Shocked would be an understatement! He said yes 🙂 We couldn’t be a happier family.”
